The Education, Market, Botanicals, Agriculture, and Recreational Center (EMBARC) Community Youth Farm is a community center created by Georgia Tech graduate students from the Design and Research Studio under the leadership of Professor Herman Howard. Initially conceptualized by Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson, the EMBARC Farm will provide a place for education, recreation, and security for the youth members of DeKalb County. It will feature a green house, interactive bee farm, hen house, organic compost station, fresh produce store, crops and farm beds, and recreational facilities like the tennis courts, volleyball court, and pool. With EMBARC, children and teenagers all over DeKalb County will be able to learn about and connect with the environment in a safe and caring space.
